The Castle Deck was a Peeling Deck Paint Lockdown Encapsulation Project via Kong Armor ™ Lifetime Deck Armor and its local Cincinnati Deck Painters
Initially upon meeting with the owner of the Castle Deck. We found it in decent condition. In need of restoration and resurfacing for sure. But at quotation, the peeling paint was defined as minor. However, during Deck Cleaning it was discovered that the deck paint had poor adhesion. It began to peel massively under minimal pressure cleaning.
This exposed other issues with the deck. Mainly some end of board rot caused by rusty fasteners and years of poor protection with the previous paint.
We went to work and replaced the rotten boards with our air-dried pressure treated ready to coat decking lumber. They were fastened down by our proprietary Mondo 316 Stainless Steel Rust-to-Rot Resistant Decking Screws. Lumber that’s ready to take on coating, deck screws that won’t rust and cause board rot like the previous ones in the deck.
